4 September 2008The Great [Fire] Wall of China
Surfing the Web here in China is, let’s just say, Interesting.
Big Brother IS watching.
I can’t get to around 20% of the sites I want to visit. Other sites take 2-3 mins to load, presumably while someone checks the content? I don’t know.
It turns out there are some disadvantages to living under communism. Who knew?
But the one thing I can’t help but to think is that there is just SO much potential business here and in other parts of Asia that will develop over the next 5-10 years. Internet usage is exploding and so will demand for goods and services on the web. You look around and all you see is millions of potential new customers – Growth and new opportunities as far as the eyes can see.
The Internet is still in its infancy. It’s a great time to be alive and working in this space.
You have chosen wisely, young Jeti . . .
